Human Services

This Career Cluster is focused on preparing individuals for employment in careers that relate to personal care and consumer services such as barbering, cosmetology, hair design, esthetics and nails.  Alpine School District has a partnership with Mountainland Technical College to provide education and licensing in human services.  Scholarships are also available for private schools. For more information on these programs, please contact a counselor in your school.  

There are two Career Pathways offered through this career cluster which are:

According to the Utah Department of Workforce Services, 4,153 individuals in Utah are employed as cosmetologists. In Utah, cosmetologists, barbers, estheticians and nail technicians must be licensed. Completion of this pathway can help prepare you to take those state licensing exams.
